Automated parking system installed at Secunderabad Rly Station

The first automated parking system in the Indian Railways has been installed at the Secunderabad Railway Station here. The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, formally inaugurated the system on March 23.

A ticket dispenser has been installed at the entry point to detect the arrival of the vehicle and issues a magnetically coded ticket, which indicates time and date of arrival. This allows the vehicle access to the parking area.

A manual pay station has been set up at the exit point, where a person collects the ticket and inserts it in the machine, which calculates the parking fee to be paid.
