Hyderabad to host Deccan Air's aviation institute

Air Deccan proposes to open a comprehensive aviation training institute at Hyderabad. Seventy per cent of the indian pilots and engineers are being trained abroad, India needs to produce its own pilots, engineers and technicians to run its booming aviation industry, Air Deccan Managing Director Gopinath Reddy told on the launched the air service between Rajahmundry and Hyderabad.

Capt. Gopinath requested Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy to provide a 25 acre plot to Air Deccan to establish its training institute as well running the hospitality industry at the new Shamshabad International Airport near Hyderabad. Dr Reddy responding positively, asked his officers to identify 50 acres of land near the upcoming airport at Shamshabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Dr Gopinath also informed the media that Air Deccan will make Hyderabad its hub for its operations.

Now the question uppermost in everyone's mind is the status of the Deccan Air training facility that was supposed to come up at Devanahalli, close to the Bangalore International Airport.
