Hyundai Centre R&D centre at Hyderabad

The Koreans are coming, and this time its for good. The Hyundai Motor Corp which has a manufacturing unit near Chennai is to set up a world-class R&D Centre in Hyderabad and possibly a manufacturing unit near Tada in Nellore district.

Top top officials of Hyundai Motor Group, met chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on Sunday and expressed interest in investing in the state including Hyderabad and Tada, near Nellore.

Tada is where several automobile firms have scouted for locations, including Volkswagen and General Motors. No sooner had the Korean delegation, led by Hyundai president (R&D) Lee Hyun Soon, unfurled their plans, Rajasekhara Reddy pledged to provide 42 acres for the research centre in Hyderabad and other necessary support from the government.

The Hyundai delegation was later taken to various locations around the city like Gachibowli, Hardware Park, Vattinagulapalli. The allotment of site would be made after the team gives its preference. The team is likely to visit Tada shortly.
